Ang Kiukok painting declared ‘National Cultural Treasure’

MANILA, Philippines — National Artist Ang Kiukok’s painting titled “Males at Work” is now declared as National Cultural Fancy (NCT) and Foremost Cultural Property (ICP), in accordance to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

“Males at Work” is a commissioned work by the national artist for National Manpower and Formative years Commission (NMYC) in 1979. Ang Kiukok, who died in 2005, used to be a illustrious Filipino expressionist whose hanging and shimmering paintings portrayed a diversity of cubist-like figures.
