Beaches near Metro Manila you can now visit for a quick vacation

Good news for those who want to take a breather and head to the beach!

Now that the government has put NCR and a lot of other areas in the country under Alert Level 3, the travel regulations have become more relaxed.

Places and resorts are reopening, albeit with health protocols in place to ensure everyone’s safety.

Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) brings you a list of beaches near Metro Manila you can now visit.

Subic, Zambales

The drive from Manila to Subic only takes two to four hours, depending on the traffic situation. This makes Subic a great spot for a short weekend getaway or even a day trip with the family. Subic Beach has a lot of resorts, from budget-friendly to high-end ones.

You can also make the most of your trip and stop by Ocean Adventure, an open-water marine theme park where you can watch shows featuring sea lions and dolphins.

As per the Zambales Government via Executive Order 30 Series of 2021, here are the entry requirements for travelers and tourists of the province:

Fully vaccinated persons must present their vaccination card as well as a negative Rapid Antigen Test performed by an authorized laboratory 24 hours prior to travel. The final vaccine dose must also be administered one month prior to time of travel.

This applies to all individuals, regardless of age, and includes even those with immunodeficiencies, comorbidities, and health risks; and pregnant women.

Meanwhile, those who are not fully vaccinated (aged 65 years old and below) must present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to travel by a DOH-accredited hospital or laboratory.

In addition, non-residents of Zambales are also required to have an S-Pass to enter the province.

Nasugbu, Batangas

Known for its white-sand beaches, the municipality of Nasugbu in Batangas has become a favorite of city folks because it is only two hours away from Metro Manila.

The famed vacation spot has no shortage of affordable and luxurious places to stay, including exclusive developments like Hamilo Coast – Pico de Loro, Club Punta Fuego, and Peninsula de Punta Fuego.

Nasugbu has been placed under Alert Level 2 until October 31, 2021, and according to the Batangas Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, all ages are allowed for a staycation in the municipality.

However, only travelers from GCQ and MGCQ areas are allowed entry, and tourists who have comorbidity and/or are pregnant are prohibited.

Fully vaccinated individuals must bring their vaccination cards, and present a negative RT PCR or antigen test valid for three days.

You also need to pay a twenty-peso ecological fee, which you can give either at barangay checkpoints or your chosen resort.

Lastly, you need to show your confirmed reservation from an accredited establishment, as well as an approved S-Pass application, together with a valid ID with picture, address, and date of birth.

Ternate, Cavite

Another beach destination in the south of the metro is the municipality of Ternate, Cavite. A little more than an hour away from Metro Manila by car, Ternate has a number of resorts lining the coast in Sapang, including the Puerto Azul complex.

While the Cavite Province has not released its own guidelines for travel, they refer to the Staycation Guidelines from the IATF which states that individuals of all ages are allowed to have a staycation under Alert Level 3, except for those coming from areas under Granular Lockdown or Alert Level 5. Those under mandatory quarantine are prohibited as well.

Guests must either present their vaccination card or a negative RT-PCR test performed within 48 hours prior to travel.
