Duterte names Palace official as new COA chief

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Rizalina Justol as the fresh chairperson of the Fee on Audit (COA).

Acting presidential spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles made the announcement on Friday, noting that Justol’s appointment paper used to be signed by the President on February 17.

“We would like Chairperson Justol success in COA and guarantee her that the executive will continuously be supportive of COA’s efforts to guarantee transparency and accountability within the use of executive funds,” Nograles said in a Palace briefing.

Forward of her appointment, Justol served as the Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Administration below the Situation of labor of the President. She additionally served as the accountant of the Davao Metropolis executive below Duterte’s term as mayor.

Justol will support a seven-year term as COA chief, changing Michael Aguinaldo whose term ended on February 2. (PNA)
