Heart Evangelista has decided to concentrate on finishing her teleserye, I Left My Heart In Sorsogon for a reason.
In fact, at the moment, she is foregoing two glittery sojourns in France, no less
On Wednesday, November 3, Heart revealed on Twitter she had declined an invitation to the Cannes Film Festival and to the Chaumet event in Paris.
Asked for the reason why, her answer was even more surprising.
Heart disclosed she’s been planning on “leaving for a while” after the show.
She said, “Honestly because I feel like it’s time din in my life na there’ll be certain things that I will be doing.
“I’ll be leaving also for a while so I felt like now is really the time.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) interviewed Heart during the Zoom media conference of I Left My Heart in Sorsogon on November 5, 2021.
Heart talked about the serye as though it would be her last hurrah on television.
She said, “I’m also 36, I don’t know how I’ll look when I’m 38 so parang inisip ko, I just really wanted to do something for Sorsogon, for GMA, na ang tagal ko na rin hindi nagawa
“And, you know, come up with a project na I’ll really make sure I’ll give my 101 percent because, I don’t know, this might be my last, I don’t know, you’ll never know.
“So I felt that it was time for me to do one and to make it really really good. So I just thought that it was the perfect time.”
Is she then taking a break from showbiz after I Left My Heart in Sorsogon?
She answered, “Not naman taking a break, just prioritizing a different angle to my career, I guess, in a way.
“Also, personally, for me, parang I’ve been also really working a lot and I feel na I just want to take a breather, a little bit lang.
“But I’m not gonna go anywhere. I’m still very very out there, it’s just I want to concentrate on something muna.”
Heart’s comeback series, shot in Sorsogon where her husband Francis “Chiz” Escudero is governor, is set to air on November 15 on GMA Telebabad.
TEARY-EYED DURING THE PRESSCON
Heart was noticeably teary-eyed while the music video of I Left My Heart in Sorsogon was playing during the Zoom presscon.
She told PEP.ph, “Well, actually kanina, bago ipinakita iyong music video, nakita na namin, umiyak na rin kami nila Ms. Regdynn [Alba, senior program manager].
“Na-touch lang ako kasi with the lock-in taping, makikita mo talaga how the dynamics sa taping changed with the pandemic, and how hard everybody worked.”
She elaborated, “We’re away from our loved ones so makikita mo na iyong… not naman iyong frustrations pero iyong pagkamiss namin sa pamilya namin and how we’re all getting over that and how we’re just really working hard in this whole bubble.
“Mae-emotional ka talaga pag nakita mo iyong kinalabasan ng ginawa niyo so nakakatuwa lang na iba talaga iyong nagagawa ng group effort.
“So, I really really appreciate that.”
Also playing major roles in I Left My Heart in Sorsogon are Richard Yap and Paolo Contis as Heart’s leading men, with Michelle Dee, Kyline Alcantara, and Mavy Legaspi.
The series is directed by Mark Sicat dela Cruz, who also helmed the Kapuso shows Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday and Heartful Café.
