NorthPort Batang Pier (2-3) defeated Blackwater Bossing (0-8), 98-73 to claim their second win in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup on Thursday at the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Jamie Malonzo, the second overall pick in the 2021 PBA Draft, led Batang Pier with a double-double of 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting including 3 three-pointers with 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist and a steal in 33 minutes of play. Robert Bolick Jr. finished with 17 points (6/10 FG, 2/5 3PT), 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
Kevin Ferrer added 14 points while bigman Greg Slaughter with a solid double-double performance of 12 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 assist in 31 minutes.
