TNT Tropang GIGA (8-1) uses strong fourth quarter to beat Barangay Ginebra (3-5), 88-67 to claim their 8th win in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Rookie Mikey Williams led Tropang GIGA with a another huge game of 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting including 4 three-pointers, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 31 minutes of play. Jayson Castro with a solid game of 14 points (6/9 FG, 2/5 3PT), 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal while Troy Rosario added 14 points (5/12 FG, 2/7 3PT), 5 rebounds and 1 block.
Japeth Aguilar finished the game with 18 points (7/11 FG), 6 rebounds and 5 blocks in a loss while Christian Standhardinger added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Veteran guard LA Tenorio with a bad night as he missed all of his 13 attempts (0/13 FG, 0/6 2PT, 0/7 3PT) and 5 rebounds. Ginebra committed 21 turnovers in the contest, only shot 28/76 (36%) from the field including a miserable 1-of-16 shooting from downtown and went 10-of-15 from the free throw line.
